India is located south of China and east of Pakistan. On June 23, 1757, British rule began in India. In August of 1947, India gained their independence from Britain. During these time periods much went on in India. In 1885 an Indian National Congress was created made up of elite Indian intellects. All were capitalists and due to British assimilation, they spoke English. This group was much against British abuse and because of this, won support of many. A Hindu dominated group who ate pork and had a cow as a sacred animal contained a population of 80%. In 1906 another group erupted called the Muslim League which contained a population of 20%. Unlike the Indian National Congress, this group ate cows and did not eat pork. This group advocated for Muslims rights and was loyal to the British. In return they got political jobs. They spoke Arabic and had the slogan "A nation within a nation," because they were under British rule, however, they had their own beliefs and rules. Both groups had their own beliefs, and both were driven religion. These groups were born in India and both groups were Indians.
